Window Wall House
Deans Marsh, Victoria
This is landscape art, a pop art tin shed painted on the rustic rural marsh.
The site for this house is on a busy country road. From this situation emerged a project of two way viewing, to shield the occupants of the house from the view of the passing cars and simultaneously return a thing to be viewed to those cars.
It is a compact low lying L shaped home with two striped walls that face the road with the flip side walls alternating from black to white to provide an op art effect. The bands of black, white and grey expand and contract around the building, as it sits proudly in its little paddock.
Opening the red door, one sees down a long corridor, through the house to the cows in the paddock.
